Iran: Trump has unleashed Strait of Hormuz’s full potential
The Iranian nation asserts that the war waged by US Armed Forces on orders of President Donald Trump has brought into sharp focus the power of the Strait of Hormuz.
General Amir Hatami, the head of the army, has labeled the vital passage as a “God-given geopolitical leverage” of the Iranian people and noted that its might will never revert to the pre-war level.
Addressing the media during the weekend, Hatami said the leverage is one of the factors that can bring the war to an end without future battles against Iran.
“One of the legacies of the U.S. president is the activation of the Strait of Hormuz’s potential,” he stated. “Without this conflict, it would not have been activated.”
The top military official vowed Iran will ensure the United States is no longer permitted to enter the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman.
Hatami said everyone should know American bases in the region will never be able to operate as they did previously because Tehran will not allow such plans.
Iran’s Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, however, declared his country has won the war politically and militarily, even though the U.S. military remains standing.
The lawmaker noted that the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran with “nine specific, declared objectives,” but have since failed to achieve any of the outlined goals.
“This was a defeat for the U.S. and the Zionist regime,” he said. “In the diplomatic sphere, the agreement is a source of pride and a victory on the diplomatic battlefield.”
