Federal Government unveils new pay structure for Armed Forces
President Bola Tinubu has okayed a revised salary structure for personnel in Nigeria Armed Forces with salary hikes of 30 to 80 percent.
The development was revealed on Tuesday by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement.
As stated by Onanuga, the new salary regime is an effort of the Federal Government towards enhancing the welfare of members of the armed forces and boosting the country’s security agencies.
This new salary regime will involve salary hikes for officers and troops ranging from 30 to 80 percent according to their ranks and categories of service.
Further information on how this new salary regime would be implemented will be revealed soon by concerned authorities.
He went ahead to say that around 250,000 personnel would benefit from this new regime, effective from September 1.
