The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed members of its National Campaign Council in anticipation of the general elections of 2027, with the party nominating notable political personalities such as its flag bearer, Peter Obi, and running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to top slots.

As indicated in the newly made available list by the party, its National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has been appointed as chairman of the National Campaign Caucus, with Obi being the co-chairman.

The party’s National Chairman, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, was named vice-chairman, while Kwankwaso, the NDC vice-presidential candidate, will serve as co-vice-chairman.

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, who chairs the party’s National Campaign Advisory Council, is listed as a member of the caucus.

The NDC National Secretary, Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, will serve as council secretary.

Other members include the party’s Deputy National Chairman (North), Alhaji Sidi Bomi Abdul; Deputy National Chairman (South), Babatunde F. Alli; Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; and Senator Victor Umeh, who represents the NDC Senate Caucus.

The list also includes Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim, Director-General of the Presidential Campaign; Engineer Buba Galadima; Professor Yakubu Ochefu; Professor Mahmud Gambo Jahun; Hon. Moshood Salvador; and Mrs Dudu Manuga, the party’s National Woman Leader.

The list was reportedly made public on Sunday by Osa Director, the NDC National Publicity Director, in a post on his X account.

The formation of the campaign council marks a step in the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections, with the listed officials expected to play roles in coordinating its political activities and campaign strategy.

The announcement comes as political parties begin organising their structures and mobilising support ahead of the next general elections.
