Presidential aspirants to pay ₦100m: APC unveils 2027 primary election schedule, announces nomination fees
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled its timetable for the general election primaries in 2027. The party also outlined the timeline for when nomination forms will be sold to prospective candidates.
The APC National Secretariat disclosed that nomination forms would be sold from Saturday, April 25, to Saturday, May 2, 2026. This will take place at the APC National Secretariat.
The party also revealed that its primaries would be conducted for various elective offices. The order of primary elections will start with the presidential primary elections on Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, 2026.
Other primary elections include the House of Representatives on Monday, May 18, 2026; the Senate on Wednesday, May 20, 2026; State House of Assembly on Thursday, May 21, 2026; and governorship on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The total price tag set by the APC for nomination forms per aspirant is ₦6 million for the House of Assembly; ₦10 million for the House of Representatives; ₦20 million for the Senate; ₦50 million for governorship; and ₦100 million for the presidential office.
This latest development means that an intense competition is brewing for the APC primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
