Gunmen kidnap COCIN pastor’s wife, 3 children in Borno
Boko Haram / ISWAP suspected terrorists kidnapped the wife of COCIN’s Pastor Rev. Moses G. Guguma along with their three children in Damasak, which is the headquarter of Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.
Local sources reported that the kidnapping took place on Saturday around noon when the family was traveling to Damasak.
Damasak, in Borno North Senatorial District, is about 156 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, and is subjected to repeated attacks by the insurgents over the years.
According to credible source, the wife of the Pastor had been admitted for some days in the hospital of Maiduguri and was released recently, which they traveled to Damasak.
“The terrorists stopped the commercial vehicle closed to Kareto village and asked the pastor’s wife, along with her 3 children to disembark from the vehicle, leaving other passengers and the driver”. One of the sources said.
“The wife of the clergyman, whose identity is being withheld was recently discharged from hospital in Maiduguri after a prolong ailment”, the Source added.
As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the victims remain unknown.
A local resident, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, reached out for prayers and solidarity, noting that the victims were targeted specifically due to their religious identity.
