Two killed, scores missing as suspected herdsmen attack Benue communities

A number of people are said to be dead, whereas approximately 30 others are still missing after armed herdsmen unleashed new attack in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.

As revealed by our correspondent, the gunmen initially attacked Ochobo community, resulting in the death of two residents.

Furthermore, the gunmen tried to attack Agadagba community; however, the locals resisted them and hence no casualty occurred in that locality.

Nevertheless, the gunmen again came back on Saturday night to open fire on the community, thereby killing some individuals, whereas about 30 other people are still missing.

One of the residents, who was speaking to our correspondent from a hiding place, explained that the gunmen attacked them suddenly and as a result of which they ran into the bushes nearby.

“They came shooting sporadically. Many people were killed, while several others escaped into the bush. As I speak with you, about 30 people are still missing, and we don’t know whether they are alive or dead,” the source said.
