Ondo farmer found dead on Cocoa farm
Ajibade Kehinde, a 52-year-old farmer, has reportedly been found dead in his cocoa farm at Alani Camp close to Supare in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The body of Ajibade Kehinde was reportedly discovered in his cocoa farm in Alani Camp close to Supare in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State after he left his house to go to his farm.
His lifeless body was later discovered along a road leading to the farm, throwing the community and his relatives into mourning.
Sources familiar with the incident suspected that the farmer may have been attacked by criminals believed to be operating within the area.
However, some of his harvested produce were reportedly found at the scene, raising uncertainty over the motive behind the attack and whether any items were stolen.
Police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer, visited the location after the discovery and evacuated the body to Iwaro General Hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.
The corpse was subsequently deposited in the hospital’s mortuary for preservation and autopsy, while detectives commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command had begun a thorough investigation into the case.
He assured residents that the police would explore all available leads to uncover what transpired and bring anyone connected to the death to justice.
