2027 Polls: APC unveils list of Governorship candidates nationwide(FULL LIST)
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has published the list of prospective gubernatorial candidates for the 2027 general elections in Nigeria, after a series of primary elections in various states.
This is because the list entails a result from a series of direct primaries, consensus deals, delayed exercises, and collations still underway in some regions.
It should be noted that the process of selecting the candidates for various gubernatorial positions was different for each state according to recent party trends, where some were selected by consensus while others emerged from direct primaries.
In some states, there have been delays in the exercise as well as collations still being carried out in some places.
1. Abia State
Eric Opah emerged APC candidate after polling 126,977 votes, defeating Henry Ikoh who scored 5,905 votes.
2. Adamawa State
Final result not yet announced, but Ahmed Galadima is reportedly leading.
3. Akwa Ibom State
Governor Umo Eno emerged as APC candidate through consensus.
4. Bauchi State
Primary postponed and expected to continue.
5. Benue State
Governor Hyacinth Alia is leading with a wide margin and expected to emerge.
6. Borno State
Mustapha Gubio emerged as APC candidate through consensus.
7. Cross River State
Governor Bassey Otu emerged through consensus.
8. Delta State
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori emerged after polling 345,375 votes.
9. Ebonyi State
Governor Francis Nwifuru emerged through consensus.
10. Enugu State
Governor Peter Mbah emerged through consensus.
11. Gombe State
Jamilu Gwamna emerged after polling 247,161 votes, defeating Isa Pantami and Saidu Alkali.
12. Jigawa State
Governor Umar Namadi emerged through consensus.
13. Kaduna State
Governor Uba Sani emerged after polling 459,393 votes.
14. Kano State
Governor Abba Yusuf emerged through consensus.
15. Katsina State
Governor Dikko Radda emerged through consensus.
16. Kebbi State
Governor Nasir Idris emerged through consensus.
17. Kwara State
Primary postponed and expected to continue.
18. Lagos State
Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat emerged after polling 657,917 votes.
19. Nasarawa State
Primary postponed and ongoing.
20. Niger State
Governor Umaru Bago emerged through consensus.
21. Ogun State
Senator Solomon Adeola emerged after polling 304,055 votes.
22. Oyo State
Final result not yet announced, but Senator Sharafadeen Alli is reportedly leading.
23. Plateau State
Governor Caleb Mutfwang is leading with a wide margin and expected to emerge.
24. Rivers State
Ogundu Kingsley Chinda emerged after polling 268,497 votes, following withdrawals by other aspirants.
25. Sokoto State
Governor Ahmad Aliyu emerged through consensus.
26. Taraba State
Governor Agbu Kefas is leading with a wide margin and expected to emerge.
27. Yobe State
Baba Malam Wali is leading with a wide margin and expected to emerge.
28. Zamfara State
Governor Dauda Lawal emerged through consensus.
States Without APC Governorship Primaries (Off-Cycle Elections)
Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun.
