Dangote drove my mom home after I was born — Davido

David Adeleke, also popularly known as Davido, who is an Afrobeats star, has come out to reveal that his family has been in a longtime relationship with billionaire Aliko Dangote.

The singer made the revelation while explaining his relationship with Dangote in an interview he granted recently in Lagos.

He says that Dangote has been in a long-term relationship with his family for many years now and has been giving him financial advice ever since he was young.

“Aliko Dangote drove my mom home from the hospital when she gave birth to me,” he said.

He said Dangote had remained consistent in advising him to save and manage his money whenever they met.

“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” he said.

Davido said Dangote’s advice had remained relevant as he navigated his career in the entertainment industry.

The “Fall” crooner also described billionaires as ordinary people despite their enormous wealth, saying their lifestyles were often different from public perception.

He also said that Dangote was a close associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke, noting that the relationship between the two families had lasted decades.

The singer said his relationship with the billionaire businessman dated back to his childhood and has continued into his adulthood.
