Davido, an award-winning performer in Afrobeats music, has shared his thoughts on how he would like his kids to turn out when it comes to their career choices.

It is clear from his statements that Davido would not like his children to follow in his footsteps and choose a career in entertainment.

In one of his interviews conducted on The Breakfast Club, Davido revealed his sentiments regarding the path to success in entertainment. His decision is based on the experience he has gathered so far in the entertainment industry despite growing in a wealthy family.

Davido recounted the manner in which his father’s opposition to supporting his musical career prior to success made him lose “his joy” and further added that he will continue to support whichever child pursues a career in the entertainment industry.

Interviewer: “Would you like your kids to pursue a career in this industry or would you rather have your kids work for grandpa?”

“I tell you omo, work for my dad. Come December, my dad goes around with all the grand kids. He has everything – even multiple private jets and all. And what makes him happy? To see his grandchildren.”

“See my father is single. But when I realized how his happiness was in having his grandchildren, it became something that just made sense. And that is why it frustrated me when he didn’t want me in the entertainment industry. It really took away the joy until he realized I am very determined. And I won’t do anything to take that away from my kids. Because my daughter is already dancing and singing.”
