Denzel Dumfries joins Real Madrid in €20 Million move from Inter Milan

Real Madrid, the Spanish club, has now signed the Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries from Italian giants Inter Milan in a reported deal worth €20 million ($23 million).

The club made this announcement on Sunday when they revealed that Denzel Dumfries has penned a four-year contract that sees him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2030.

In a statement, Real Madrid said: “We have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Denzel Dumfries, who will be with our club for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030.”

The experienced 30-year-old right-back is well-known for his attacking qualities and comes to Madrid having played for the Netherlands national football team in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Dutchmen lost the game in the Round of 32 to the Morocco national football team in penalty shootout.

Dumfries will bring even more competition in the position of a right-back along with Englishman Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Dutch defender signed for Inter Milan from PSV Eindhoven in 2021 and became the champion of Serie A twice and reached the finals of the UEFA Champions League twice in a row playing for the Italian club.

Dumfries is the fourth addition Madrid have made this summer, after Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate.

Madrid, who appointed veteran Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho as a coach, replacing the former Spanish defender Alvaro Arbeloa, have decided to revamp their team, failing to win any major trophies for two seasons in a row.

Los Blancos extended the contract of center-back Antonio Rudiger until 2027, following the departures of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba from the club.
