“Let them reach me” — Oyedepo tells church members to give kidnappers his contact if abducted
Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide Bishop David Oyedepo has asked members of his congregation to hand out his phone numbers in case they are kidnapped.
He added that he has enough spiritual power to arrange their release.
The bishop made the statement while preaching at the headquarters of his church located in Ota, Ogun State.
Video footage of the sermon became viral on social media yesterday.
“Whosoever kidnaps you, give me your number, give me your number,” he said.
The preacher backed the directive by two cases where, according to him, the hand of God helped save kidnapped members of his congregation.
He recalled that one day a pastor from his congregation was kidnapped but he got hold of the kidnapper’s cell phone.
According to him, he threatened that the kidnapper will die within 24 hours if the pastor is not set free.
He continued, “On another occasion, one of our pastors was kidnapped by the gangsters.
“I said, give them the phone. I said, within 24 hours, if you don’t release him, you will die.”
“It made the entire place vibrate. Immediately.”
However, in the second story, he told how one of their female members was being held hostage and was saved by declaring their freedom by faith before 7 am.
“He said, my father said, I’m getting out of here at 7 a.m. They didn’t get any call from me. They were cutting themselves,” he said.
Oyedepo urged the members of his church to know that they all had the spiritual power inside them and needed only to harness it.
“You have been raised way above the devil. If the church doesn’t conquer these devils, God has abandoned heaven,” he said.
The video, which was tagged as #SupersonicSunday by the church social media pages, seemed to be recorded during one of its services in the days leading up to Thursday.
