Tragedy in Kogi as APC chairman slumps, dies at meeting

Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State witnessed chaos yesterday following the collapse and subsequent death of Oyewole Mayowa Solomon, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Local Government.

This took place during a meeting that was convened by a former APC chairman in the Local Government, who is referred to as Funsho Olumoko, in the bid to foster unity in the party.

Solomon is believed to have been at the meeting when he suddenly fainted.

The cause of his death was not immediately disclosed.

It was learnt he was rushed to a hospital in Kabba for medical attention but passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.

At the time of filing this report, the circumstances surrounding his sudden death had not been officially disclosed.
