2027: Tinubu receives NDC chieftains Hanga, Gaya at Aso Villa
President Bola Tinubu received on Sunday two key members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) which include Rufai Hanga and Kabiru Gaya at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Deputy President of the Senate, Jibrin Barau led the delegation during their visit.
It was reported that Hanga and Gaya who are key political figures from Kano State would formally leave NDC and join the governing party, All Progressives Congress (APC) next week.
This meeting could be seen as one of the many political realignment as far as future political engagements are concerned. This defection, when it happens, would certainly add muscle power to the APC in Kano State.
To recall, Senator Rufai Hanga lost Kano Central Senatorial and deputy governorship tickets under the NDC platform.
Hanga is reportedly leaving NDC after failing to be considered for any post by the NDC vice presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Senator Kabiru Gaya ran for the Kano South NDC Senatorial seat but he failed after consensus candidate was produced from the camp of Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Earlier, the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda met the duo.
