President Tinubu signs NIMC Act 2026 into law
Bola Tinubu, President of Nigeria, has signed the NIMC Act 2026 into law. The act was signed into law on Friday at the State House, Abuja.
The news was revealed through an official post made on the verified X account of the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assented to the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) Act 2026 at the State House on Friday,” Onanuga wrote.
The new law is expected to provide a stronger legal framework for the operations of the National Identity Management Commission and enhance Nigeria’s national identity management system.
Further details on the provisions and implementation of the Act are expected to be released by the Federal Government.
