Makinde holds closed-door talks with PDP BoT, interim NWC in Ibadan
Members of the BoT of the splintered PDP led by Adolphus Wabara and NWC interim chairperson Kabiru Tanimu Turaki are currently meeting in a private session with Seyi Makinde at the governor’s office in Ibadan.
Insiders who are privy to the development have suggested that the meeting could be related to the recent allegations involving Governor Makinde, where he was accused of seeking the presidency under the banner of the APM party.
It has also been noted that the discussion could revolve around security challenges emanating from the increasing activities of bandits within the Ibadan metropolis, following a political declaration by the governor.
While details of the meeting are yet to be known, analysts have expressed the view that the meeting will significantly impact realignment efforts in preparation for the 2027 elections.
“The meeting may not be unconnected with recent reports linking Governor Makinde to a presidential ambition on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, while discussions are also believed to touch on the recent bandit attacks in Ibadan,” the source said.
Meanwhile, further details of the meeting were still sketchy as of the time of filing this report, as discussions remained ongoing behind closed doors.
