Burna Boy, a Nigerian singer with the actual name Damini Ogulu, has recorded a historic accomplishment as he becomes the first man ever to claim the top spot on Spotify’s newly introduced Global Music Video Chart.

This became possible because his World Cup-themed single with pop icon Shakira titled ‘Dai Dai’ took the spot on Spotify’s Global Music Video Chart, becoming the first male artist and African artist ever to do that.

In other news, ‘Dai Dai’ has also claimed a new record by claiming the 13th position on the famous Billboard Hot 100 Chart this week.

‘TDai Dai’ is expected to break into the top 10 next week after Burna Boy and Shakira performed at the World Cup Final Halftime Show on Sunday.

‘Dai Dai’ remains the most streamed music video of 2026 on YouTube with over 498 million streams. The single also recently topped the charts on Apple Music Global Songs Chart.

After claiming the above-listed accolades, Burna Boy added another one as he set a new record for himself as the African artist with the highest number of monthly listeners in the history of Spotify with more than 53 million monthly listeners.
