Naira gains against dollar, trades at N1,390/$ in Black Market

The Naira yesterday appreciated to N1,390 to the dollar in the parallel market from N1,395 to the dollar on Monday.

On the same pattern, the naira appreciated to N1,376 to the dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, NFEM.

According to the data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, the indicative exchange rate for the market dropped to N1,376 to the dollar from N1,385 to the dollar on Monday, appreciating the naira by N9.

As such, the gap between the parallel and the official market widened to N14 to the dollar from N9 to the dollar on Monday.

Turnover in the interbank increased by 20.5 percent to N269.9 million yesterday from N223.9 million the previous day.
