One dead, several workers trapped as Gombe Assembly complex collapses
There is one reported death and seven other people who have been injured after the collapse of the Gombe State House of Assembly building that is under construction.
The accident took place on Friday where workers found themselves trapped under the debris until rescuers got to save them.
The incident was revealed by the Head of Operations of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Gombe Operations Office, Ummanah Ahmed.
In his statement, he indicated that three injured were admitted to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe, and five to Gombe State Specialist Hospital for medical care.
Some of the victims suffered serious injuries in the process.
It was not possible to get the response from the construction firm responsible for the project at this time.
The cause of the collapse has not yet been ascertained.
