5 bandits neutralized as security operatives free 32 kidnap victims in Katsina
Five suspected bandits have been eliminated, and 32 kidnapped persons have been freed during the joint efforts against the bandits in certain areas of Katsina State.
This operation was conducted by joint security forces in the camp of the notorious bandit chief called Muhammad Fulani, who is reportedly active in Matazu, Musawa, Kankia, Charanchi, and certain areas of neighbouring Kano State.
According to a press release by the commissioner of internal security and home affairs in Katsina State, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, the security personnel seized one AK-47 rifle, ten magazines, and nine motorcycles used by the criminals.
As per the statement, one of the bandits who fell dead in the operation was known as Samagi and reportedly a trusted accomplice of the infamous leader of the bandits, Muhammadu Kachalla.
In addition, according to the statement, the operations resulted in the freeing of 32 abductees, including 10 women, 9 men, and 13 children who had been abducted by the bandits.
“While the governor continues to reiterate that the government will not negotiate with bandits, the focus is on taking decisions that will end banditry once and for all in the state,” read part of the statement.
Furthermore, the hunt for the bandit leader, Muhammad Fulani, and other gang members who escaped is still underway, with the law enforcement officers relentlessly chasing after them.”
