Mr Mohammed Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, has assured that opponents of the president, Bola Tinubu, would definitely regret in 2027 polls.

Characterizing the opponents of Tinubu as the source of untruths, lies, mischief and propaganda, Mr Matawalle stated that propaganda and lies cannot impact Tinubu.

In his words, President Tinubu still remains one of the greatest leaders concerned about the people’s welfare, offering selfless services and facing up to the numerous problems of his country, mainly insecurity and poor governance left by previous regimes.

He went further to say that President Tinubu made sure that there were good projects being executed in all areas, including providing the Nigerian army and other security agencies adequate funding to handle security problems facing the nation, especially northern Nigeria, where the problem has been centered.

He said that President Tinubu prioritized development in economy, education, capital and humanity in order to develop the nation and make life easier for the people.

”It was a surprise that some group of Nigerians partners with some individuals on tarnishing the image of Mr President despite his efforts for the country’s peaceful coexistence, unity and progress,” said Matawalle who spoke through his Special Adviser on Politics, Hon. Ibrahim Maigandi, Danmalikin Gidan Goga at a retreat organised in Sokoto, on Tuesday.

”The scrupulous elements have engaged youths with no focus and visions for national development, spreading falsehood, promote negative propaganda against the office of Mr President and criticizing President’s good performance for their selfish interest,” he said.

He urged youths to be virtuous and stop themselves from creating any rumors that would bring about discord within the nation.

The Minister also urged politicians to be proactive in developing communities and the economy of the nation.

According to Malam Yusuf Abubakar, who is the Lead Convener, the idea behind organizing the retreat is to generate goodwill for the reelection of President Tinubu by exhibiting his qualities of being a good leader.

The Matawalle was applauded by him for organizing the awareness fora and he urged him not to relent in their efforts to help Tinubu gain his second term in office.

According to him, at least 58 community leaders and heads of associations along with some ambassadors from Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Kaduna states attended the retreat.
