Former Manchester City midfielder, Portuguese footballer Bernardo Silva, has moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid, signing a two-year contract at the club.

The former Manchester City player has signed a two-year deal with Real Madrid following his departure from Manchester City at the end of last season when he was released from his existing contract due to expire.

Bernardo Silva has signed a contract with Real Madrid until June 30, 2028.

In his time at Manchester City, Silva has been among the most prolific players at the club, playing 459 matches and netting 76 goals.

He had joined the Premier League club from French club Monaco in 2017 and became instrumental in their success.

The 31-year-old has won a total of 15 trophies with the club, including four consecutive Premier League wins between 2021-2024, a Champions League treble during the 2022-2023 season, and all the domestic cups in the 2018/2019 season.

As the new coach Jose Mourinho failed to win any major trophy during his two-season stint, the newly elected Madrid president, Florentino Perez, replaced him in early June.

Earlier on Monday, Madrid announced the arrival of Spain international left-back Marc Cucurella from Chelsea in a £55 million deal.
