11 feared dead after terrorists attack Adamawa village

Eleven people died in Zaranga village of Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Monday.

One resident of the village, who spoke with our correspondent via telephone on Monday but did not wish to be identified since he is not authorized to talk to the press, said Boko Haram fighters raided the village on Monday morning and shot and burned down some houses.

“For now, 11 dead bodies have been recovered. Many people are still missing. Search teams and security personnel are in the forest searching for the missing people,” he said.

Another resident said that his wife and two other family members were among the dead bodies recovered.

“My wife and two of my family members were also killed during the early morning invasion of my village,” he said.

When the Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje was contacted, for confirmation several times, there was no response.

As of the time of filing this report, he had yet to respond to calls put through to his phone.
