EPL: Liverpool name Andoni Iraola as head coach after Arne Slot leave club
Liverpool just named Andoni Iraola their new head coach after sacking Arne Slot over the weekend.
Slot, though he led them to win their 20th English league title last year, couldn’t defend that title successfully.
Now, the club has hired Iraola without specifying the duration of his contract. But word on the street is he’s signed a two-year deal with Liverpool.
So, things are changing at the club once again, though no one said why exactly Iraola is on board for just two years initially.
“Really excited, really excited, because obviously you know about Liverpool, you know that it’s a big club, a massive club, one of the biggest in the world,” the 43-year-old former Bournemouth manager Iraola said on Liverpool’s official website.
“But feeling inside and understanding a little bit more of this club, I always thought it’s a special club.
“You don’t need a lot of things to get attracted by Liverpool. Liverpool is Liverpool.”
