Byazhin area residents in Kubwa, Bwari Area Council of the FCT are living in fear after a brutal attack by armed men. It left one vigilante dead and some people kidnapped.

Based on what eyewitnesses saw, the attackers hit the community super early on Thursday at around 1 AM.

As the gunmen went about their terrible business, panic spread like wildfire. In his brave attempt to stop the abductions, a local vigilante member tried to face off with the attackers but lost his life.

Right now, we don’t know the identities of those taken or the vigilante who died.

This assault has made locals extra anxious, given how kidnappings and violent raids are getting way too common in the Bwari and Kubwa areas. Communities there have had enough of these dangerous attacks.

Attempts to confirm the incident from the FCT Police Command failed as the Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Josephine Adeh, did not answer calls made to her mobile phone number.

Central Post Nigeria reports that, the latest attack added to growing incidents of attacks and abduction of residents in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory, particularly in satellite communities bordering Abuja, where residents have repeatedly called for increased security presence and patrols to curb the activities of armed criminal groups.
