Hausa Political music Star Kosan Waka passes away at 47

Muhammadu Buhari, otherwise known as ‘Kosan Waka’ and an acclaimed praise singer of political songs in Hausa, has died aged 47 years.

According to the news, the famous singer of political praise songs, especially for the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, is said to have died on Sunday.

On this sad note, the Governor lamented over the demise of the singer, saying it was indeed a great loss to the entertainment sector as well as to the larger community.

In his condolence statement, which was read by the spokesman of the governor, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, he described the late artist as a patriot of the Katsina State whose music was very instrumental in politics, culture and enlightenment in Kano State and beyond. People & Society

According to the statement, Kosan Waka was scheduled to be buried at 5 p.m. on Sunday in his hometown of Tsanni village, Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Governor Yusuf extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, particularly his mother, as well as his friends, associates, admirers and the people of Kano State.

“The late Kosan Waka was one of Kano’s most celebrated political singers whose talent, creativity and captivating performances earned him admiration across the country,” the governor said.

He noted that the late singer’s contributions to political communication and the Hausa entertainment industry would continue to be remembered.

The governor also prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength to bear the loss.

Kosan Waka was regarded as one of northern Nigeria’s most prominent political praise singers, earning widespread recognition for his performances at political gatherings and public events across the region.
