NERC removes Kaduna DisCo board over ₦456bn outstanding debt
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has disbanded the board of directors of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Plc for reasons of having total market liabilities of N456.5 billion.
This decision was made by the regulator in its “Order on the Regulatory Intervention in Kaduna Electricity Distribution Plc Pursuant to the Electricity Act 2023,” which came into effect on Monday, August 10, 2026.
