Tambuwal’s key ally Ubandoma dumps ADC for APC

An ally of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto State and the 2023 PDP gubernatorial candidate in the state, Mallam Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, has now switched his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mallam Ubandoma, a stakeholder in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, was admitted into the APC by the party’s leader in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja.

The news was made public through a press release issued on Tuesday by Bashar Abubakar, the S.A on Media and Publicity for Senator Wamakko.

Ubandoma, who previously served as the commissioner for finance and secretary to the government of Sokoto state under the administration of Tambuwal, stated that his reason for switching parties was due to Wamakko’s qualities as a leader and the performance of the administration of governor Ahmed Aliyu.

He believed that the accomplishments of the government in areas such as infrastructure, education, health care, agriculture and rural development among others made him realize that the APC was still the most credible political platform that could guarantee further development of Sokoto state.

Welcoming him to the party, Wamakko stated that the defection was a huge boost for APC and that the act is an indication of the growing confidence that political figures have on APC.

He also reassured Ubandoma and his associates that they would be accorded similar status in APC since APC will continue receiving members who want the best for Sokoto state.
