48-years-old Garo sworn in as Kano Deputy Governor
Murtala Sule Garo has been sworn into office as Deputy Governor of Kano State after a swearing-in ceremony held at the capital of the state.
The swearing-in was done in the presence of the state’s Chief Judge with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf witnessing the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by various government officials and political stakeholders within the state.
Commenting on this event, the former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, congratulated Garo through his X page, hoping he will succeed in his new position.
Before now, Murtala Sule Garo served as the Commissioner of Local Government Affairs for the state prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor. The vacancy in the position occurred as a result of Abdussalam Gwarzo’s resignation.
The position was left vacant from March 27, 2026, due to Gwarzo’s resignation.
Now that Garo is officially the Deputy Governor, people hope that he will cooperate with Governor Yusuf to promote better governance within the state.
