Osun Politics: Davido says Fadahunsi, Wole Oke won’t return to NASS

Popular Nigerian music artiste David Adeleke, known by his stage name Davido, has vowed to fight against the comeback of both Senator Francis Fadahunsi and Oluwole Oke to the National Assembly.

He said this on Tuesday while reacting to an X post stating that the two Osun representatives would be back to the National Assembly after the 2027 elections.

The X user, @Tobilola_, had written:

“Fada and Wole Oke showed capacity sha. They’ll be returning to the national assembly, I’m afraid.”

Davido, who is a nephew of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, quoted the post and replied:

“Not with me alive.”

Fadahunsi represents Osun East Senatorial District, while Oke represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Both lawmakers are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Davido’s comment came days after Adeleke won the August 15 Osun governorship election, defeating the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Fadahunsi and Oke were among APC figures who opposed Adeleke’s re-election bid.

The singer’s reaction also followed Oke’s refusal to congratulate Adeleke, with the APC campaign director saying the party was still reviewing the election result and had yet to accept the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration. Government

INEC declared Adeleke the winner after he polled 511,067 votes against Oyebamiji’s 444,815 votes, while ADC candidate Najeem Salaam secured 17,180 votes.

Oke had said the APC campaign organisation was auditing election materials, including Forms EC8A, EC8B and EC8C, before deciding whether to challenge the result.

The development has added a fresh political dimension to the post-election battle in Osun, with attention already shifting towards the 2027 general elections.
