NECO, NBTE, others gets new leaders as Tinubu approves new appointments in Education sector
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recently approved a new set of appointments and reappointments to important organizations within the Federal Ministry of Education in order to improve the leadership and service delivery within the sector.
Among the organizations that have new leadership include the National Examinations Council (NECO), National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Federal Polytechnic Nyak-Shendam, and National Library of Nigeria.
One of the changes made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the appointment of Modupe Adeola Adelabu to be the Chairman of the Governing Board of NECO while the registrar, Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, remains in his position.
At NBTE, Prof Babatunde Salako has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board. Meanwhile, the term of Prof Idris M Bugaje as the Executive Secretary will end after a second and last five-year term.
Engr Dr Bongfa Binfa became the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam, Plateau State after being chosen to replace the pioneering rector whose term came to an end recently.
Prof Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, the Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria was reappointed for five more years by President Tinubu, after her initial appointment in 2021.
The statement issued by the Presidency stated that these appointments were meant to consolidate reforms in the sector and enhance effective service delivery.
The President looks forward to continuity in reform projects, such as the construction of the Headquarters of the National Library and the institution’s strategic plan for 2025–2030.
