Retired OGTV staff member, security guard found dead at her residence
An investigation has commenced by the Ogun State Police Command into the death of the retired OGTV broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku and her security man after their dead bodies were found in the house she inhabited in Iyana Agodo village.
As contained in a statement released by the Public Relation Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi on Sunday, the report came to the knowledge of the Owode Egba Divisional Headquarter through one of the residents who detected some odd happenings in the house.
According to Babaseyi, upon receiving the report, detectives were sent to the house where they observed signs of forcible intrusion and ransacking.
“The search of the house revealed the body of the security guard in the security post while that of the deceased broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku was found in her apartment,” he said.
He further revealed that the deceased broadcaster’s car is missing from the house.
The DSP disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni has ordered that an investigation be conducted to unravel the matter.
He added that more surveillance and intelligence-led operation have been intensified in relevant areas to arrest the culprits.
“The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Babaseyi stated.
“An intensive investigation is ongoing to unravel the facts, track down, and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act, while ensuring that all those involved are brought to justice,” he added.
The police commiserated with the family of the late broadcaster, the Ogun State Television community, members of the media, and others affected by the tragedy.
The command urged residents to remain calm and vigilant and appealed to members of the public with useful information to assist ongoing investigations.
