US President, Donald Trump, has revealed that troops from America, together with those from Nigeria, have successfully undertaken a military offensive which has resulted in the death of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, referred to as the number two man in the ISIS in the world.

This was revealed by Trump in a press statement released via his social media site, known as Truth Social, over the weekend. In his statement, he said that the action taken was the result of detailed surveillance of the activities of the terrorist mastermind within the continent.

According to Trump, the target was one of the most active terrorist leaders around the globe involved in plotting attacks and conducting operations against people of American and African descent.

“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield,” Trump stated.

He added that al-Minuki believed he could evade capture by hiding in Africa, but intelligence sources continued to monitor his movements closely.

“Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS globally, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing,” Trump wrote.

The US president said the killing of the ISIS commander would significantly weaken the group’s global operations and reduce its influence across the African continent.

“He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans. With his removal, ISIS’s global operation is greatly diminished,” he added.

Trump also commended the Nigerian government and the Armed Forces for their cooperation during the mission.

“Thank you to the Government of Nigeria for your partnership on this operation,” he stated.
