Trump vows to retaliate after Iran shot down U.S helicopter
Donald Trump, the President of the USA, made a statement that the USA would act accordingly after accusing Iran of shooting down one of their Apache helicopters in the area close to the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a post published on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump was notified by the US military that there was a shoot-down of an aircraft that was described as “highly sophisticated Apache Helicopter” by him during night time.
The President informed that there were two pilots in the helicopter, however, both of them survived unharmed.
Trump wrote: “I have just been informed by our Great Military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our highly sophisticated Apache Helicopters while patrolling over the Strait of Hormuz.
“There were two pilots involved, both are safe and uninjured. Nevertheless, the United States must, of necessity, respond to this attack. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Central Post Nigeria reports that, the incident marks a fresh escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran in the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.
