Atiku meets ADC candidates in Adamawa, tasks them with mobilising support

Former Vice President and the presidential flag bearer of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mr. Atiku Abubakar, met the party’s flag bearers contesting different elective positions in Adamawa State over the weekend.

Atiku, popularly referred to as “Waziri Adamawa,” confirmed the meeting through a post on his X handle.

The former Vice President called on the candidates to start their grassroots mobilisation process by sensitising voters prior to the coming general elections.

Atiku underscored the importance of making contact with the voters directly during the preparations for the election.

“Earlier today, I met with my fellow 2027 Adamawa State African Democratic Congress candidates across all elective positions, including our governorship candidate, Hamman Tukur Ribadu.

“I urged the party leaders, led by the Deputy National Chairman North East, Mr Daniel Bwala, and State Chairman Rt. Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Dasin, to reconcile and unite all party members, and to begin engaging with our people through mass mobilisation and voter sensitisation efforts ahead of the upcoming general elections.

“I am pleased to see the party uniting to form a common front. I have encouraged them to maintain these efforts,” the post read.

On Friday, the former Vice President received a delegation of Ekiti ADC stakeholders, led by Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, a former Deputy Governor of the state.

He expressed satisfaction with their commitment to the party and the rescue mission.

Atiku said they resolved to strengthen the partnership and review how to better position the party in Ekiti ahead of 2027.

In a separate tweet on Friday, the Waziri said he met with a delegation of the United Kingdom High Commission, led by its High Commissioner, Dr Richard Montgomery @RMontgomeryUK, at his residence in Abuja.

He said the High Commissioner was on a farewell visit to him.
