Eight trapped as two-storey building collapses in Kwara
Not less than eight people are believed to be trapped in the aftermath of the partial collapse of a two-story building in Ilorin.
The accident happened at about 5:30am on Tuesday at PopoGiwa, Madalasi Zhogoro, off Sijikobi Road in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state.
The collapse that happened in the morning hours has triggered concern as there will be efforts to find out how many people were trapped in the debris.
It was gathered that among those trapped in the building are nursing mothers and children.
Officers of the state fire service, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and residents of the area are currently carrying out rescue operations at the scene of the incident.
Officials of the State Emergency Management Agency were also at the site to carry out rescue operations.
