#OsunDecides2026: Tension erupts at Deputy Governor Adewusi’s polling unit
Brawl erupted at Prince Kola Adewusi, the deputy governor and deputy governorship aspirant of Accord Party in Osun State polling unit during the gubernatorial elections that took place on Saturday.
The event transpired when Benjamin Kayode Adereti, the deputy governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress visited Prince Adewusi’s polling unit.
It is reported that before visiting Prince Adewusi’s polling unit, Benjamin had already cast his vote in his designated polling unit called Waasin Polling Unit 11 Ilaare Ward 3.
His presence in the polling unit of Prince Adewusi attracted a lot of resistance from some of Prince Adewusi’s supporters.
The situation briefly disrupted the otherwise peaceful atmosphere at the polling location as supporters exchanged words and tensions rose.
At the time of filing this report, the reason for Adereti’s visit to the polling unit could not be ascertained.
However, his presence appeared to have unsettled some of the deputy governor’s supporters, leading to the confrontation.
