Tinubu approves 3 key appointments in BCDA, NDPHC
President Bola Tinubu has made new appointments into federal agencies, appointing former lawmakers to head different institutions within the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA) and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
The new appointments have been communicated through a statement that was released on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The appointments become effective immediately.
The appointments include Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas who has been appointed as the Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency.
Namdas is a journalist and a public relations expert who once served as the Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna. He was also a lawmaker in the 8th House of Representatives, serving as the spokesperson for the legislative arm of government.
Namdas replaces Dr Dakorinama Alabo George who has resigned from the post to run for elective office in his home state.“Dr Namdas replaces Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned to contest for an elective post in his home state,” the statement said.
At the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, President Tinubu appointed Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial.
Obahiagbon, a former member of both the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned to pursue his political ambition.
“Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from his position as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, to pursue his political aspiration in his home state,” the statement added.
The President also reappointed Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.
Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, returns to the position after previously resigning to pursue a political ambition.
