2027 election: ‘Forgive our mistakes and support us again’ — Nwifuru begs voters
Francis Nwifuru, the Governor of Ebonyi State, has made an appeal to the people of the state to forgive any faults made by his government and that of other politicians, while appealing for their continuous support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 election year.
This appeal was made during a democracy thanksgiving service organized at Government House chapel in Abakaliki, on the occasion of the third anniversary of his administration.
In his sermon to worshippers and political stakeholders, Governor Nwifuru stated that some faults might have been committed in the process of governing by his administration, the National Assembly, and lawmakers in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
He appealed to them to ignore these faults and continue supporting their representatives
“Please forgive us; forgive me and the National Assembly members and the House of Assembly members. Forgive our shortcomings and vote for us again,” the governor appealed.
Reflecting on his three years in office, Nwifuru expressed gratitude to God for the progress recorded under his administration, noting that governance is a continuous learning process that demands humility, dedication and the understanding of the people.
He admitted that no government could claim perfection but assured residents that his administration remains committed to improving governance, expanding infrastructure and delivering more democratic dividends across the state.
The governor also reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining ongoing development programmes and policies aimed at enhancing the welfare and living standards of the people.
The thanksgiving service attracted several prominent political figures, including David Umahi, former governor of Ebonyi State and current Minister of Works, as well as Martin Elechi. Serving senators, government officials and other stakeholders were also in attendance.
Nwifuru’s remarks come as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gradually gather momentum across the country.
