After Bala Mohammed’s move to APC failed, Peter Obi meets Bauchi Gov behind closed doors
An ADC opposition leader and ex-presidential aspirant of Labour Party in the 2023 presidential electioneering campaign, Peter Obi, visited Bauchi State on Thursday for talks with Governor Bala Mohammed.
Obi met with Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House, Bauchi, proceeding into the Presidential Lounge to hold a closed door meeting.
It has been reported by sources at the Government House that Obi’s visit to meet with Governor Mohammed may revolve around issues surrounding the recent political activities in the lead up to the next election season.
Nonetheless, both the guests and host will brief the press following the discussion.
Mohammed, the chairman of the People’s Democratic Party governors’ forum, previously announced on March 31 that his choice of party, which he intends to defect to, is the African Democratic Congress.
This statement was issued after he received a delegation from the ADC headed by Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, at the Government House in Bauchi.
But the governor’s political stand seemed to have changed immediately, since he also received the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, together with Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on April 1 at the same place.
